Everyone is already “mixed race”, especially as there is only one race, every since the last Neanderthal died hunted and alone.

Not as visually dramatic as between sub-Saharan African and trans-Alpine European, but I’m British, which means I have the genes running through me of a multitude of mutually hostile heathen hosts. What I know of my own mish-mash of barbarians include Briton-Saxon, Saxon-Dane, Saxon-Norman, Irish-Dane, Irish-Norman, English-Irish, English-French and my father came from the East-End docks area of London, which probably means the genes of major immigrant groups such as Jewish and Russian after possibly to be found if delved enough. My first cousins who did not emigrate to various New World places, include half Portuguese, half Ukrainian, half Irish, half West-Indian and I am married to a French with a Spanish father.

My point being that although all or most are today classed as “white” or as the American like to amusingly say “Caucasian”, all the aforesaid tribes were within historical times at each others throats with a bloody vigour. Maybe humanity will not finally become one until we have an external focus point to compare ourselves with. So “come on you aliens, if you think you’re hard enough”.

Racism is an extension of that tribalism and natural enough. But we are civilised men, well, we like to think we are, and what comes naturally has to be moulded and adapted and in some cases eliminated from the body social and politic. What is natural has to be controlled not encouraged.

That said, I’m unsure that I’d want my daughter to marry a Scottish Highlander or an American. Half of the former barbarians don’t even wear trousers and half of the latter are tattooing themselves like savages.

Oh well, maybe there’s no hope for us after all. Back to the longboats lads, for a quick row to England to ravage all the maidens, axe all the monks and plunder all their stuff. Ahhhh, those were the days: rape, pillage and arson, not to forget emptying all the wine barrels the hard way.
